Student Assistant for Science Communication Wanted
News from Jun 01, 2026
Are you fascinated by cutting-edge science and eager to share that enthusiasm with others?
The Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) 1772 "Heterostructures of Molecules and Two-Dimensional Materials" is looking for student assistants to support its science communication and outreach activities.
CRC 1772 brings together physicists and chemists to investigate how atomically thin materials, molecular building blocks, inorganic compounds, and functional dyes can be combined into novel heterostructures with unique electronic and optical properties. Researchers develop and study these systems using advanced laser laboratories, state-of-the-art microscopy techniques, and sophisticated spectroscopic methods.
As part of the outreach team, you will help create hands-on activities, school programs, and communication formats that make this exciting research accessible to broader audiences. The aim is to inspire future scientists and engineers by sharing the fascination of exploring matter at the nanoscale and demonstrating how physics and chemistry work together to address tomorrow's technological challenges.
For students interested in participating in school outreach activities, good German language skills are required. Students focusing on social media and digital communication activities can contribute in English and should have a basic understanding of the scientific topics covered by the CRC.
How to apply?
Please send your full application to the CRC1772 coordination team (applications@crc1772.de) with the subject "2502_CRC1772_D-StudB“. The application must include:
- Curriculum vitae
- Transcript of Bachelors records
- Motivation letter including reasons four your interest in scientific outreach and the CRC 1772
Applications are welcome at any time!
